MySpace India has appointed Sandeep Suvarna as senior marketing manager for their India operations. Suvarna (pictured) will report to Hari Krishnan, country head, MySpace India. In his new role, Suvarna will be responsible for driving the marketing strategy, public relations and distribution of MySpace products for users across India.
Speaking on the appointment, Krishnan said, "We at MySpace India are very excited to have Sandeep on board. Considering the youthful culture at MySpace, we wanted someone energetic and enthusiastic to drive the brand with cutting edge and innovative ideas making it a leader in this highly competitive industry. We are sure that Sandeep, with his experience, understanding of the industry and our target groups, will prove to be an asset to the company.
Added Suvarna, "I am excited to be part of MySpace India at such an important point when the brand is evolving in the country. I am looking forward to working closely with Hari and my new colleagues to help MySpace India achieve its full potential as the industry’s leading player. My primary focus over the coming months will be on showcasing the unique offerings of MySpace to Indian consumers and to drive user acquisition and engagement."
Suvarna was previously with Yahoo! India as marketing manager and prior to that Tribal DDB India. His experience has been primarily in brand marketing, product marketing, online marketing, market research and media planning.
