Spikes Asia Advertising Festival has announced its dates for this year’s event as 19-22 September 2010. The Festival will return to Suntec Singapore and will coincide with the week of the Singapore F1 Grand Prix.
The presidents of the juries will be announced in the coming weeks. The organisers have announced that in 2010, Australia and New Zealand will be eligible to enter. In addition, the Young Spikes Media Competition has been launched to complement the existing Young Spikes Integrated Competition. The contest will challenge teams to develop an innovative media strategy, based on a brief presented by a charity or non-profit organisation, whose name, objectives, strategies and target audience remain secret until they are disclosed at the briefing session. The competing teams will have to prepare their submission in the form of a short presentation which will then be presented to and judged by a panel of top media experts.
This year, registration fees for Young Marketers has been reduced.
Terry Savage, Chairman of Cannes Lions, who, with Haymarket, publishers of Media and Campaign, organise the event, said, "Learning and inspiration are more critical now than ever before, and in the next few weeks we will be announcing more innovations for 2010 along with a great line-up of speakers and seminars. Following extensive consultation with the industry, we welcome back Australia and New Zealand into Spikes and we will continue to meet with the industry in the coming weeks to ensure the relevance of our programme to the market."
"Spikes Asia exceeded all our expectations in year one. The improvements that have been made for 2010 are as a direct result of constructive feedback from the industry. We are delighted with the level of interest in this year's event, especially the decision to coincide Spikes Asia with the Singapore F1 Grand Prix," commented Tim Waldron, managing director of Haymarket Media Asia.
