Sports on TV: Plenty of finals and the Monaco Grand Prix

This weekend brings us loads of tournament-ends, with lots of cup final action awaiting us. There are the semi-finals and finals from the ICC World T20, English FA Cup and the German DBF Cup coming our way.

For cricket lovers, the action starts on Friday at 20:45 hrs, when the in-form Australians will take on the unpredictable Pakistanis. The winner of this game will play England, who qualified for the finals after beating the Sri Lankans at St. Lucia. The final’s are on Sunday and will start at 20:45.
Both the games are live on ESPN.

For football enthusiasts, there’s the FA Cup final as well as the German DBF Cup final on Saturday. At 19:30 hrs on Sony PIX, BPL Champions take on relegated Portsmouth. Portsmouth have done tremendously so far, to get to the finals but they will face an uphill task trying to upend an in-form Chelsea.

From 23:25 hrs onwards on STAR Sports, Champions League finalists, Bayern Munich take on Werder Bremen in the German DBF Cup (The German DBF Cup is equivalent to the FA Cup in England).

Further, there’s F1 action from the picturesque principality of Monte Carlo in Monaco. Coming from a win in Spain, Mark Webber will look to continue his good form with a win here. But in Monaco form goes out of the window, with the tight corners and hardly any overtaking opportunities. Getting a good qualifying position will be imperative for all the drivers in this grand prix more than any. Catch all the action from qualifying on Saturday from 17:20 hrs onwards and the race itself on Sunday from 17:15 hrs onwards, live on STAR Sports.
