STAR India upgrades to Patron Status at CASBAA

CASBAA, the Hong Kong-based association for digital multichannel television content, platforms, advertising and video delivery across Asia, has announced that long standing member STAR India has upgraded its membership to Patron status. As part of its Patron Member benefits, STAR India will take a seat on the CASBAA Council of Governors, the leading advisory board for the Association, to discuss key industry issues and CASBAA positioning on such matters.

“The Association recognizes the incredible development of the industry in India and STAR’s upgrade in membership is a testament to CASBAA’s support and efforts to nurture the growth of the market in the region,” said Marcel Fenez, chairman of CASBAA.

Uday Shankar, chief executive officer, STAR India, said, "CASBAA's recognition of STAR India's phenomenal growth in India is a reflection of our consistent commitment to provide the Indian viewers with the best content through responsible programming. Partnering with CASBAA, we will continue to take the Indian broadcast industry to new and unparalleled heights."

Since the beginning of 2011, CASBAA has added nine organisations to its membership roster including Great Wall Industry Corporation (China), Dolby Laboratories (USA), GBN Global Broadcasting Network (Thailand), GEO-TV (Pakistan), MCOT Public Company Limited (Thailand), Newtec (Belgium), Times Television Network (India) and TransAsia Lawyers (China) as well as the STAR India upgrade.
