Uday Shankar and James Murdoch to launch new venture

Murdoch had resigned from the board of News Corp in July last year while Shankar announced his exit in October

Uday Shankar, former president, Walt Disney Company Apac, and chairman of Star and Disney India, will be joining James Murdoch, former CEO of 21st Century Fox, for his latest venture.
 
According to media reports, the new venture will 'explore technology and media opportunities' in emerging markets.
 
The duo had first associated with each other in the late 2000s. 
 
While the name of the venture is yet to be decided, in an interview with the Financial Times, Murdoch stated that the aim of the business is to be in the area of digital media, education and healthcare delivery.
