Prior to this, he worked at Skoda Auto India as marketing head

Volkswagen appoints Kamal Basu as head of marketing
Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited has announced the appointment of Kamal Basu as the head of marketing and PR.
 
Prior this, Basu was the marketing head at Skoda Auto India. He has  close to two decades of experience working with agencies like RK Swamy BBDO, Rediffusion Y&R and with Saatchi & Saatchi as CEO.
 
Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said, “We are pleased to welcome Kamal on board here at Volkswagen India. Kamal is a seasoned marketing professional and I’m sure he will be a strong and valuable addition to our team. Kamal will play a key role in further developing the strengths of the Volkswagen brand in India.”
 
Basu’s appointment became effective as of 1 January.
