Enough has been said about 2020. Campaign India is closing out the year by asking industry leaders about what this different year taught them and what do they want from the year that comes up.

Here's what Sanjeev Jasani, COO, Cheil India, had to say:

One learning from the magical year 2020?

The pandemic has actually fast tracked the digital wave in the country by almost five years. With not too many options to turn to in the traditional communications space, brands have been forced to rethink and fast track their digital strategies. This is forcing agencies to rethink their business. And that’s the biggest learning for me – “RETHINK YOUR BUSINESS”. Don’t rest on your past laurels doing things you know but instead look at constantly evolving your business by learning new things, as nothing is permanent and things can change really fast.

One thing you want from the year 2021?

Definitely good health for everyone. And from a business perspective I would want people (especially the agency folks) to be more optimistic. All is not lost. When you have your back to the wall, there is always an opportunity lurking around the corner. We just need to open our minds, unlearn what we already know and learn new things. Kind of evolve. So yes, I would like a bunch load of optimism in people around me.
