From doorbells to stock bells: Swiggy’s decade rings on

Its in-house ad film celebrates its stock debut, cleverly linking delivery doorbells to the NSE bell and honouring its delivery partners.

On-demand convenience platform Swiggy Ltd marked its stock market debut yesterday. As part of its listing ceremony, co-founders Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy, were joined by management team members, including Rohit Kapoor, Phani Kishan, Rahul Bothra, Amitesh Jha and Madhusudhan Rao, to ring the bell at the National Stock Exchange (NSE). This symbolic moment celebrated the company’s journey from a startup to a publicly listed company and highlighted the crucial role its delivery partners play in the brand's success.

To commemorate this significant achievement, Swiggy has released an ad film, conceptualised in-house, which encapsulates the brand’s ethos and the decade-long journey that led to this milestone. It begins with a series of bells ringing in quick succession, gradually building to a crescendo. The voiceover then states, ‘Ghanti bajate bajate kahan tak pohoch gaye’ (Look where we’ve reached as a result of ringing so many bells), subtly drawing a parallel between the countless doorbells rung by Swiggy's delivery executives and the ceremonial bell now ringing at the NSE. This visual metaphor reinforces the company’s growth and celebrates the collective effort that has powered Swiggy’s rise.

The ad film culminates by showcasing Swiggy’s wide range of offerings— including Swiggy Food, Swiggy Instamart, Swiggy DineOut, Swiggy Genie, and Swiggy Minis—while emphasising the brand’s commitment to delivering joy, convenience, and delicious food to millions of customers across India.

As Swiggy embarks on its next chapter of growth as a publicly listed company, it extended gratitude to its restaurant partners and delivery heroes, who it claimed were the company’s pillar of strength. In a special tribute to the backbone of Swiggy's operations, two of the company’s delivery partners, Jigar Khan and Namrata Vora, joined Swiggy’s co-founders and management team on stage at the National Stock Exchange. Together, they rang the ceremonial bell, symbolising the collective effort of Swiggy’s delivery network and honouring their vital role in the company’s success. This gesture reinforced Swiggy's commitment to celebrating the hard work and contributions of its delivery heroes, who are at the heart of the brand's journey from a startup to a publicly listed company.

Campaign’s take: Swiggy’s stock market debut yesterday was as unique as it was symbolic, blending the familiar sound of a doorbell with the ceremonial ringing of the NSE bell. Co-founders Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy, alongside senior executives, celebrated its transition from startup to publicly listed company with an ad film that wittily marks this milestone.

For a decade, Swiggy and Zomato have dominated India’s food delivery scene, with their fleets of delivery partners weaving through traffic to bring on-demand convenience. This time, Swiggy turned the humble doorbell into a clever metaphor.

The ad, conceptualised in-house, opens with a cascade of doorbells ringing in rapid succession, culminating in the voiceover’s playful, ‘Ghanti bajate bajate kahan tak pohoch gaye’ (Look how far we’ve come by ringing so many bells). This parallel, between doorbells and the stock exchange bell, captures the adrenaline-driven growth that saw Swiggy go public in just a decade.

In a thoughtful gesture, two of Swiggy’s delivery partners, Jigar Khan and Namrata Vora, were invited to ring the NSE bell alongside the founders, a tribute to their integral role in the company’s success. This ad isn’t just marketing; it’s a celebration of an ecosystem that brought the startup from doorsteps to the stock market.
