Karan Johar adds some drama to his KFC snack

Watch the film conceptualised by Ogilvy here

KFC has rolled out a campaign titled ‘Yeh snack nahi drama hai’ (this is not a snack, it's a drama) to introduce its new offering - Popcorn Nachos. Conceptualised by Ogilvy, the film features filmmaker Karan Johar and the brand mascot Colonel Sanders.

In the film, Johar is seen enjoying his chicken popcorn, then suddenly, he sees his popcorn on nachos. Thinking of this as a twist in the story, he eats it and is in love with it. Towards the end, Sanders formally introduces the new offering, before Johar ends with saying, ‘Yeh snack nahi drama hai’

A similar film has been rolled out for the Southern market, featuring actor Srinidhi Shetty.

Moksh Chopra, chief marketing officer, KFC India, said, “A bit of crispy and crunch go a long way in inducing some excitement in daily routines. And who better than celebrated artists Karan Johar and Srinidhi Shetty, to reinforce the drama in KFC’s Popcorn Nachos, in their signature charismatic styles. With double the crunch and an interesting blend of flavours, drama-lovers Let’s KFC!”

Ritu Sharda, chief creative officer, Ogilvy North, said,"With so many different elements, flavours and textures in each bite, we realised KFC’s Popcorn Nachos wasn’t just any snack. It was an edge-of-the-seat, masaledaar plot, full of twists and turns. Yaani ye snack nahi, full drama hai! And who better to land a drama, than the two most dramatic people from across the country – KJo and Srinidhi."
