Tata Sky commits reach as wide as the mobile

Watch the ad film conceptualised by Ogilvy & Mather

Tata Sky has launched a campaign on the theme ‘Phone ghumao, Tata Sky lagao’ to highlight its reach across the country.

The film conceived by Ogilvy & Mather went on air on 10 December and will run for four weeks.

It opens with two young girls living in Ladakh running in search of network range on their mobile phone. One of the girls asks the other to stop wasting time as she believes that no one will come to their remote area. However, the girl persists and on receiving network is shown making a call to the Tata Sky Helpline number. She informs him that she is from a village from Ladakh and gives him her whereabouts. She then asks him if he could provide Tata Sky service at her house. The Helpline executive informs her, “Madam aapka phone lag gaya, toh samajho connection bhi lag gaya" (Madam as long as your call reaches us, be rest assured that our connection will also reach you). Excited at what he said, she asks him to repeat and puts the mobile to the ears of the girl who was discouraging her. Brimming with  happiness, she breaks into an impromptu jig. The voice over explains, “‘Ab India ke kisi bhi kone mein ho, bas phone ghumao, Tata Sky lagao’. (Whichever corner of the India you may be in, get Tata Sky installed with just a phone call).

Vikram Mehra, chief commercial officer, Tata Sky, explained, “Tata Sky has always focused at providing consumers with convenience and ease of access. Hence, it has invested in developing its sales and service network covering even the smallest towns across the country. As a result of this, consumers located in some of the most remote locations can now install a Tata Sky connection at their homes through a simple call to the Tata Sky Helpline.”
