Ever wondered about what a day in the life of someone from the advertising, marketing or media industry looks like? We're here to spill the beans on it.

This week, Krupa Sheth Kapadia tells us about her daily routine and how she straddles a work-life balance.

Name: Krupa Sheth Kapadia

Role: Creative director, Stratedgy (leading brand strategy and design studio).

Personal and professional mantra: Curiosity trumps passion.

5:45 am: I start the day with an hour-long workout. This is my time to recharge physically and mentally and it sets the tone for a productive day ahead.

6:45 am: Enjoy a quiet coffee, taking time to reflect and set intentions for the day.

7:15—8:30 am: Mornings are dedicated to the family, especially with my two active toddlers.

8:30—9:15am: On my way to work, I catch up on general news and podcasts during the commute. Once I reach office, I settle in and then plan out the day's tasks. Organisation at this time is key to staying productive.

9:15—11:30 am: I reserve my mornings for brainstorming and individual tasks. The morning freshness helps in coming up with new ideas and focusing deeply on projects.

11:30—12:30 pm: Team meetings take place around this time. We align on the day's priorities, share updates, and discuss upcoming projects.

12:30—5:30 pm: The focus shifts to client work—reviewing deliverables, presenting ideas, and ensuring projects are on track.

6:00—8:00 pm: Once I return home, my evenings are dedicated to my family. I spend time with my boys, often taking them to the park or just enjoying some quality moments at home. It’s a great way to unwind and connect after a busy day.

8:30 pm: Over dinner with the family, we share stories from the day and bond with each other.

9:00—10:00 pm: This is my time to relax and recharge. I might listen to an interesting podcast, watch some videos, or catch up on any work that needs my attention. It is also when I give feedback on ongoing projects or read up on new design trends.

10:00—11:00 pm: The final hour of my day is for unwinding in front of the TV. It’s my way of disconnecting from the day’s activities and preparing for a good night’s sleep.

Weekends: I like to keep my weekends a bit more relaxed but still stimulating. I might explore my interests such as reading about Indian epics, the physics of the universe or even conspiracy theories.  They help me stay curious and open-minded, which is vital for my creative process.
