Bates141 sets up shop in Bangladesh

Bates141 has set up Bates141 Bangladesh to support Marico's needs in Bangladesh, which were hitherto being supported out of Kolkata. In addition, Bates141 will tap into emerging business in the country with the wholly owned subsidiary.

Speaking about the foray into Bangladesh, Jeffrey Yu, chairman, Bates141 said, “This initiative is seen as deepening of our footprint into Asia, as the world's largest Asia devoted network. Unlike all other global agencies, Bates141 Bangladesh is a 100% WPP company. We will offer both ATL and BTL services including CRM, digital and mobile platform driven solutions and bring in other specialized solutions such as out-of-home Media and Design from our APAC network. With Bangladesh now opening, Bates141 has a presence in all 14 Asian countries and can fully live up to its name and reputation as the only agency dedicated to Asia.”

Added Ranjan Kapur, country head, WPP, “I am absolutely delighted that Bates141 has found a foothold in Bangladesh. This is a tremendous achievement and I am sure it will add to the overall growth of Bates141 in South Asia with a presence now in three countries namely India, Sri Lanka and now Bangladesh."

While Bates141 has already set up office in Dhaka and has a team in place, it is in the process of appointing a country manager for Bangladesh.

"Spreading our wings into Bangladesh has been on the cards for us for some time now. Our foray into Bangladesh  allows us to not only service our current businesses there more effectively, but also lets us put to use; our superior "Bangla" language credentials for our current as well as potential clients in Bangladesh," added Sandeep Pathak, CEO, Bates 141 India.

Abeer Chakravarty, director, Bates 141 Bangladesh adds, “This is a happy culmination of a long-standing dream to be engaged with and involved in Bangladesh. We are grateful to Marico who introduced us to Bangladesh and has been an incredible and exemplary partner helping Bates141 grow and build its team and regional calibre over the past five years.”
