Chris McDonald, CEO, Taj Television has announced his decision to step down from the company that he founded in late 2000. He will continue to be involved with the company in an advisory role effective end-April. Peter Hutton will be promoted to the post of chief operating officer and will step into the new role from May 1, 2009. Hutton will work in close coordination with Himanshu Mody of Zee and Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee of Bukhatir Investments Ltd.
Hutton joined Taj TV in early 2002, and is currently senior vice president of programming and production. Prior to Taj TV, Hutton served as IMG/TWI’s co-head for South Asia.
McDonald (pictured) stated, “Creating and running Taj TV/ Ten Sports was a dream come true, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I was blessed to have a fantastic team to work with, strong and supportive shareholders, and a fair dollop of luck. It will be hard not to be part of the everyday buzz that surrounds Ten Sports, but I am excited that the shareholders of Taj TV would like me to continue in an advisory role and be engaged in various projects.”
