Chief minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray has stated that door-to-door newspaper delivery in the state can resume from 7 June. Delivery boys will be provided with hand sanitisers and masks from the Government.

The decision to stop the deliveries of newspapers was earlier taken to stop the spread of Covid-19 across Maharashtra. The state has been majorly impacted by Covid-19 as it has had more than 65,000 cases.

Print players have been adversely affected too. Several media houses including HT and The Times Group have announced layoffs for staff.
