Effie Effectiveness Index 2016: O&M Mumbai second best office globally, Mullen Lowe Lintas Mumbai fifth
Effie Worldwide has released the results of its global 2016 Effie Effectiveness Index.
 
The Index is based on success in more than 40 national, regional and global Effie Award competitions.
 
Ogilvy & Mather has bagged the top spot in the agency network rankings this year. The agency’s holding company, WPP, has held its lead as the top agency holding company for five consecutive years. BBDO Worldwide was the top agency network last year.
 
Ogilvy & Mather's Mumbai office is second among the list of the most effective individual agency offices in the world. MullenLowe Lintas Group's Mumbai office is fifth on the list, which is topped by McCann's FP7/DXB (Dubai). 
 
The Coca-Cola Company gets the top marketer accolade, while Coca-Cola is the top brand. 
 
In Asia Pacific, Unilever bagged the top marketer accolade. McDonald's was the top brand according to this index. WPP Group is the top agency holding group in Apac, while Ogilvy & Mather's Mumbai office is the top agency.
 
Ogilvy & Mather also emerged as the top agency network in the region.  Socialab from Beijing is the top independent agency.
 
Neal Davies, president and CEO, Effie Worldwide, said, "For nearly 50 years, the Effies have been the gold standard for effectiveness and the Effie Index, now in its sixth year, has emerged as the measure by which our industry defines success. The anticipation and jockeying for top rankings is built up throughout the year and it is always exciting to see which agencies in particular, come out on top."
