Shefali Chhachhi, who was the head of activation at Nokia India, has moved to Max Bupa Health Insurance as its marketing director. Max Bupa Health Insurance Ltd (Max Bupa) is the recently formed joint venture between Max India and UK-headquartered British United Provident Association Ltd (Bupa).
In her new role, Chhachhi will be responsible for launching the brand in the Indian market as well as product and brand development.
"I have done start-up marketing roles for the majority of my career; be it at TV 18; Frito Lay or Nokia,” said Chhachhi. “I am excited at the challenge of launching a new brand in a category that is nascent, yet has huge growth potential. More importantly, this is a unique opportunity to participate in improving the overall service quality and consumer experience in the health insurance sector for our consumers, given Max India’s and Bupa’s service excellence values and high quality focus,” she added.
Chhachhi has initiated the process of bringing on board a creative agency for the brand. The final announcement is expected to come by next month.
Chhachhi started her career with Lintas Mumbai where she was responsible for Unilever’s personal products portfolio, from where she moved to Colgate Palmolive in a sales position. Chhachhi then moved to TV 18 as business development head after which she joined Frito Lay. She spent seven years at Pepsi’s snack division and at the time of leaving was the category head for Western Snacks that included Lay’s, Cheetos and Uncle Chips. She was last with Nokia as its head of activation across the board.
