Mindshare Mumbai is Spikes 2012 Media Agency Of The Year

Agency also wins India’s only Grand Prix; BBDO wins a Creative Effectiveness metal, Maxus Gurgaon Team wins Young Media Spikes title

Mindshare Mumbai is Spikes 2012 Media Agency Of The Year

 

Mindshare India was the big winner at Spikes Asia 2012, bagging the title of ‘Media Agency Of The Year’ for its work on Unilever brands like Kissan, Rin and Bru.

Taproot made it to second place for Independent Agency Of The Year, on the back of wins for Mumbai Mirror and Nirma.

The Young Spikes Media competition was won by Maxus Gurgaon.

BBDO India picked up a Creativeness Effectiveness Spike for its work Gillette, besides other metals across categories.

Media

Mindshare Mumbai romped home with the sole Grand Prix win for the country this year for its ‘Where what you grow is what you eat’ work for HUL’s Kissan. The agency also picked up a Gold Spike for ‘Tomato Ketchup Grows Tomato Farmers’ for the same brand. The media agency also snagged two Silvers – one each for its work on Rin ‘Chamkat Raha Keep Shining’ and ‘If Mornings Had An Aroma, It Would Be Coffee’ for Bru Gold.

For the title of Agency of the year, points were calibrated at one for a shortlist, three for a Bronze, five for Silver, seven for Gold and 10 for Grand Prix. In this tally, Mindshare emerged Media Agency of the Year.

Jack In The Box picked up a Silver in the Media category for ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ for the movie ‘3’. BBDO India won a Silver and a Bronze for ‘You Shave, I Shave’ for Gillette Fusion. Another Bronze was won by BBDO for ‘Tweet-A-Thon’ for 7Up. MEC Mumbai won a Bronze for ‘My Network Versus Your Network’ for Reliance Mobile. Lastly, Cheil Worldwide Gurgaon won a Bronze for ‘Minus One Project’ for Samsung Printers.

Film

India won four Silvers and one Bronze in this category. The Silvers went to Contract for ‘Corruption’ for Morphy Richards Juicers; Taproot for Mumbai Mirror ‘I am Mumbai’; BBH India for Google Chrome ‘Tanjore’; and DDB Mudra for ‘Deadman Talking’ for Consumer Education Research Centre. Taproot also won a Bronze for its film ‘Cleavage’ for Fox Movies.

Film Craft

Contract Advertising won a Gold for ‘Corruption’ for Morphy Richards Juicers for ‘Best Use of Sound‘. Bang Bang Films won a Silver for IPL ‘Carnival’. RDP won two Silvers for Mumbai Mirror ‘I am Mumbai’, and Taproot one a Bronze for the same film in the Script sub-category. BBH picked up a Bronze for Google Chrome ‘Tanjore’, as did McCann Worldgroup for ‘Leave the night behind’ for Chlormint.

Print

Grey won a Bronze Spike for ‘360’ for Fujifilm. DDB Mudra Group won a Bronze Spike campaign for its work for VW Touareg.

Print & Poster Craft

Leo Burnett won a Silver for ‘Fish’ for Bajaj Exhaust Fans, as well as a Bronze for ‘Socks’ for the same brand. Taproot won a Bronze Spike Campaign for Nirma Bartan Bar.

Promo & Activation

Ogilvy won a Bronze for ‘Chanting Lighter’.

Radio

Leo Burnett won a Bronze Spike for ‘Punishment’ for Strand Book Stall.

PR

Cheil won a Silver for ‘Minus One Project’ for Samsung Printers. India won three Bronzes in this category – one went to Bang Bang Films for ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’, and two to BBDO for ‘The Everyday Soldier Movement’ for Gillette Fusion.

Digital

BBH India won a Bronze Spike for Google Chrome ‘Tanjore’.

Creative Effectiveness

BBDO India snagged a Creative Effectiveness Spike for its work for Gillette Mach3 Turbo Sensitive titled ‘Shavesutra’ (one of three awarded in the category’s inaugural year).

Design

In Design, TBWA won one Bronze for its work titled ‘Elephant Combs Logo Design’ for MKV Households.

Outdoor

In Outdoor, McCann Worldgroup picked up one Silver campaign and one Bronze campaign for its work on Western Union Money Transfer. Ogilvy also picked up a Bronze for ‘Chanting Lighter’ for Cancer Patients Aid Assoication.

There were no winners from India in Integrated, Branded Content & Entertainment, Mobile, Direct categories.
