Radio Mirchi has announced the call for entries for the 6th Mirchi KAAN Awards. The awards aim to recognise creative excellence in radio advertising. Creative agencies have been invited to register their entries for work aired for the first time from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008.

Radio Mirchi has announced the call for entries for the 6th Mirchi KAAN Awards. The awards aim to recognise creative excellence in radio advertising. Creative agencies have been invited to register their entries for work aired for the first time from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008.

Prashant Panday, CEO, Radio Mirchi commented, "Like every year, Mirchi KAAN Awards is a platform for the advertising fraternity to showcase its creativity, reward individual accomplishment, and set new standards against which future advertising will be judged. As we move ahead with the 6th Mirchi KAAN Awards, we are not only confident of receiving more entries and an overwhelming response; also we will definitely look for the creative pieces that have made our industry proud and given the much needed voice to the brands."

The theme for the 6th Mirchi KAAN Awards is based on the political atmosphere of 2009, and has the slogan - 'Vote against Mediocrity'. The awards also aim to combat the mediocrity in radio advertising by setting this theme.

The various categories in this year's Mirchi Kaan Awards are - Food, Beverages, Toiletries and Household care, Business Products and Services, Health and Cosmetic care, Clothing, footwear and accessories, Consumer durables, Homes, Décor and leisure, Automotive and accessories, Services for the Household Sector, Sports, Entertainment, Travel and Leisure, Public Service / Charity Fund Raising, Media, Retail Outlets, Fast Food Stores, Restaurants and Unreleased work.
