Pan masala ads double during TV telecast of IPL 2023: TAM report
E-commerce (gaming) and pan masala advertisements are the most advertised categories during the broadcast of the Indian Premier League 2023 on television.

A report by TAM Sports revealed that e-commerce (gaming) accounts for 20% of the advertisements on the IPL (up from 17% in 2022) and pan masala accounts for 14% (up from 7%).

Aerated soft drinks (8%) followed by cellular phone service (7%) and biscuits (7%) complete the top five for 2023. Last year, education, online shopping and wallets were part of the top five.

The report from TAM also stated that there's a dip in the number of advertisers this year, compared to 2022. The number of categories has decreased from 40 to 25.

This year's 11 new categories and 45 new brands have been associated with the tournament. Airtel 5G Plus, Vivo V27 Series, Parle Platina Hide & Seek Black Bourbon, Joy Hello Sun Sunblock Anti-Tan Lotion and Thums Up Charged are the top five new brands to be associated with the tournament.
