The Spikes Asia Festival has appointed Myriam Coupard (pictured), previous head of delegates for Cannes Lions, Eurobest and Dubai Lynx as the festival director.

Coupard joined the International Advertising Festival seven years ago and has headed the delegate department for the last five years, leading the whole delegate registration and hotel reservation process both in the office and onsite during the Cannes Lions, Eurobest and Dubai Lynx Festivals.

Commenting on the appointment, Festival CEO Philip Thomas said, “Myriam has not only been instrumental in driving new systems for the business, managing a large team and negotiating with suppliers but has also come to understand the complex workings of running a Festival. Her knowledge of our events will be instrumental in developing the Spikes Asia Festival into a top brand and premium event.”

Tim Waldron, managing director of Haymarket, said, “We are delighted to be working with Myriam and we will be giving her our full support in the build-up to the first festival in September.”

“Asia is a hugely inspirational hot-bed of creativity so it will be an honour to organise a great event for the region with the support of my IAF and Haymarket colleagues”, said Coupard.

Debuting in September, the new annual three-day festival is a joint venture between the International Advertising Festival and Haymarket Publishing. The festival will culminate in the Spikes Asia Awards.
