Transfer Gossip: Who’s going where in the Barclays Premier League

Continuing with our round up of weekly transfer gossip, this week’s big story revolves around Manchester United.

Having sealed their 19th title last season, Sir Alex Ferguson doesn’t seem to be content and is looking to make additions to his squad.

Ashley Young and Phil Jones are two of the various names linked with the club from Old Trafford and there’s widespread speculation around the duo already having signed deals with United.

Ashley Young will join United from Aston Villa for a fee believed to be close to £ 20 million. Read more on this development here.

Centre-back Phil Jones, who came into prominence after a spectacular display against Manchester United for Blackburn, seems to his move stalled for the moment over evaluation issues. Read more here

Liverpool seem to be keeping themselves busy this summer too. Having signed Jordan Henderson from Sunderland earlier this week, Kenny Dalglish seems to have switched his attention towards Arsenal’s Gael Clichy. Clichy has only one year left on his contract at Arsenal and is rumoured to be unhappy at the club. Read more on his transfer here.

Gael Clichy isn’t the only one rumoured to be leaving Arsenal as Gerard Piquet is the latest player from Barcelona to urge Cesc Fabregas to join the Catalans. Fellow midfielder, Samir Nasri’s future at the club seems to be far from sorted too and reports from the web during the week suggested that he could be joining Arsenal’s rivals, Manchester United. Read more on the Fabregas story here.
