Visa’s Shubhranshu Singh joins Star Sports as SVP and head marketing

Shubhranshu Singh, marketing director, India and South Asia, Visa, has joined as marketing head for sports channels bouquet Star Sports. He joined the broadcaster on 1 January 2014 and will report to Nitin Kukreja, head, Star Sports. 

When contacted, Singh confirmed the move but refused comment.

He had put in his papers in the first week of December at Visa. Singh had joined Visa in 2011 and was reporting to Uttam Nayak, group country manager, India and South Asia. He led marketing, communication development, research and activation /client marketing efforts for the Visa portfolio (debit, credit and prepaid).

Prior to Visa, he was national head, customer marketing, Diageo. Singh has 14 years of experience in the marketing domain having worked at Hindustan Unilever Limited, HCL Perot Systems and Syntel in past assignments.

Recently, Star India had consolidated its sports channels under the brand name ‘Star Sports.’
