Close on the heels of launching a general entertainment channel, Colors, through their joint venture with Viacom, Network 18 is now set to launch their most ambitious foray in the dotcom space – their portal, in.com, through Web18.

The portal has been in closed beta for the past few months, and is now “viewable”.

in.com incorporates mail, news, video, audio, games and search, all arranged and tagged by verbs. The surfer can thus “read, listen, watch, play, find and mail”.

The portal aggregates news from newspapers, magazines and dotcoms internationally, crawling to find the most read sources.

The “watch” area brings visitors videos broken currently into 14 categories ranging from news to sport to music.

The “listen” area makes it simple to listen to music and to create one’s own playlist, choosing from international and Indian tracks.

The “play” area currently offers over 8000 games.

The “find” feature allows surfers to search the net as one would with any other search engine.

The mail has all the regular features found in popular services, with one unique feature. It is arguably the shortest address one could own.

in.com is expected to go live shortly.
