Bloomberg expands operations in India

 

Bloomberg L.P. officially opened its new office in Mumbai on March 14, more than tripling the size of its office. The expansion is in a bid to accommodate increased customer support for its growing customer base in India and an expanded news reporting operation that has doubled the number of its reporters in the last two years. Bloomberg's news channel partnership, The company informed that BloombergUTV claims to reach 30 million households in India presently.
 
"We experienced 18% growth in India last year alone, and we are investing in our India operations to continue this expansion and deliver our trusted financial news, data and analytics to India's increasingly important financial sector," said Peter Grauer, chairman, Bloomberg L.P, in Mumbai. 
 
"Bloomberg's market-moving news coverage in India, by our expanded reporting team, provides our customers with the ability to make informed investment decisions on local, regional and global levels," added Chris Collins, executive editor - Asia, Bloomberg News. 
 
The announcement was made at a Bloomberg client event in Mumbai, where leading financial executives attended the office opening with a keynote address by Dr. Vijay Kelkar, non-executive chairman, The National Stock Exchange of India, Mumbai.
