Cannes Lions 2014: Five Indian shortlists in PR; three each in Direct and Promo & Activation; one in Creative Effectiveness

Ogilvy, Havas Worldwide, McCann and Lowe in the fray; awards night on 16 June

Cannes Lions 2014: Five Indian shortlists in PR; three each in Direct and Promo & Activation; one in Creative Effectiveness
Twelve Indian entries have made the shortlist in four categories, shortlists for which were announced on 15 June at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Advertising 2014.
 
PR Lions
 
In the PR Lions competition, Indian agencies have received five shortlists. Ogilvy & Mather bagged four of these, while Havas Worldwide bagged the other.
 
Two of Ogilvy’s shortlists were for Google’s ‘Reunion’ film, one each for ‘The Seatbelt Crew’ (Channel [v]/Star TV) and ‘Message Barter’ for The Akanksha Foundation.
 
Havas Worldwide earned its shortlist for 'No Child Brides’ for Child Survival India.
 
Direct Lions
 
The ‘Direct Lions’ competition has three Indian shortlists. Two are for McCann Worldgroup’s ‘Share My Dabba’ for Happy Welfare and Dabbawale Foundation.
 
Ogilvy & Mather’s ‘clefttosmile’ for Operation Smile India was also among shortlists.
 
Promo and Activation Lions
 
Three Indian agencies are in the running for metal in this competition.
 
Havas Worldwide's 'No Child Brides’ for Child Survival India is among shortlists. So are Ogilvy’s ‘Message Barter’ for Akanksha Foundation, and  Geometry Global for ‘Jump Pump’  for Hindustan Unilever’s Lifebuoy.
 
Creative Effectiveness Lions
 
Lowe and Partners Worldwide’s  ‘Help a child reach 5’ for Lifebuoy is the only Indian entry shortlisted in this category.
 
Winners in these categories are to be announced at a ceremony on Monday, 16 June.
