Interbrand Best Global Brands 2017: Apple, Google retain top two positions; Microsoft passes Coca-Cola at three
Interbrand has rolled out the 'Best Global Brands' list for 2017. The agency has been conducting this study each year from 2000.
 
Apple has retained its top spot again this year. The company's valuation has increased by three per cent to reach US$ 184,154 million.
 
Google sees a six per cent increase in valuation to reach US$ 141,703 million. 
 
Microsoft has displaced Coca-Cola to reach number three on the list with a 10 per cent increase in valuation to reach US$ 79,999 million. 
 
Coca-Cola's valuation has dropped by 5 per cent to US$ 69,733 million.  
 
Amazon (US$ 64,796 million), Samsung (US$ 56,249 million), Toyota (US$ 50,291 million), Facebook (US$ 48,188 million), Mercedes-Benz (US$ 47,829 million) and IBM ( US$ 46,829 million) complete the top 10.
 
Facebook was the biggest gainer on the list, seeing a 48 per cent increase in valuation.
 
Technology companies dominate this year’s report with a combined valuation of US$ 6,75,239 million. Automotive follows with US$266,827 million.
