Josy Paul to mentor New York Festivals Torch Awards

The Torch Awards, open for 18-27 year-olds, offers training on how to pitch their idea

Josy Paul to mentor New York Festivals Torch Awards
New York Festivals has announced the 2016 Torch Awards mentors and jury panel. Representing India as a mentor is Josy Paul, chairman and chief creative officer, BBDO India.

The Torch Awards is a competition for 18-27 year olds that gives a different creative challenge each year and offers mentor training on how to pitch their idea. For this edition, Torch Awards, NYF has partnered with The Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD). IHCD is a nonprofit that looks to enhance the experiences of people of all ages and abilities through excellence in design.

Paul is among five mentors to be announced for this year's competition.

Before the finalist teams present their ideas to the jury, they'll have an opportunity to hone their presentation with a session with their mentor, a member of the New York Festivals Executive Jury and an 'industry super star', someone respected worldwide as a leader, as a creative with great ideas and talent.

2016’s Torch Award mentors were recruited from New York Festivals International Advertising Awards® Executive Jury of worldwide chief creative officers and executive creative directors.

Paul said, "It’s an honour to be selected as one of the mentors for the 2016 Torch Awards at New York Festivals. I jumped to it for selfish reasons. I get to interact with the future creative tigers of the industry on a real world project that can impact and transform people’s lives. What more can I ask for! It’s like being in Harvard and the UN at the same time.”

The Torch Awards winning team will be announced on 19 May 2016 at the New York Show.
