Under Armour launches operations in India, gets Tushar Goculdas as MD
Under Armour has announced the launch of operations in India and appointed Tushar Goculdas as managing director.
 
Jason Archer, managing director - Asia Pacific, Under Armour, said, "We look forward to introducing athletes in India to Under Armour’s performance athletic apparel, footwear and accessories – an incredibly important market as we continue to grow our brand around the world.” 
 
Goculdas spent close to a decade with adidas prior to this. His last stint was in Dubai where he was brand director, emerging markets. Prior to that he was brand director for the Indian market. He has also worked with Boston Consulting Group, Colgate-Palmolive and Whirlpool.
 
Archer added, "Tushar’s extensive retail and consumer goods experience in India, the Middle-East and Africa brings a wealth of insights and strengths to our business. We are confident that his leadership and passion will help establish Under Armour as a favoured brand among athletes in the region.”
 
The brand’s first store is expected to launch in the coming weeks.
