Vivek Bahl appointed network advisor for content at Viacom18

Viacom18 Media has brought in Vivek Bahl as network advisor for content. Bahl’s mandate includes work on the regional channels the Group plans to get into. He will play a strategic role in planning and development of new content, according to a statement from Viacom 18 statement. Bahl will report to Raj Nayak, chief executive officer, Colors, with a parallel line of reporting to Ravish Kumar, head of regional channels.

Bahl joins Viacom18 from Turner International where he was chief content officer, overlooking the content strategy and development for Turner’s entertainment brands in India. These included Imagine TV, Cartoon Network, Pogo and Warner Brothers.

On the appointment, Nayak said, “Vivek comes with great experience in developing content for different genres and his understanding of the television and entertainment industry is quite phenomenal. We believe he will play a significant role in not only in further developing and strengthening the current content on Viacom18’s offerings but also in the expansion of the network’s upcoming regional channels.”

Bahl said, "I am looking forward to working with the incredibly talented team at Viacom 18 and help escalate the properties to reach out to a larger audience across the country.”

Bahl has over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He has worked with Star TV and Zee TV in the past.
