Lowe’s R Balki and IPG’s Shashi Sinha win top agency honours at IAA Leadership Awards 2014

The second edition of the International Advertising Association India chapter’s IAA Leadership Awards were hosted in Mumbai on 1 March 2014.

Among agency awards, R Balki, chairman and chief creative officer, Lowe Lintas & Partners, was crowned ‘Creative Agency Head of the Year’, while Shashi Sinha, CEO, IPG Mediabrands India, took the ‘Media Agency Head of the Year’ title.

Ramesh Narayan, founder of Canco Advertising, was inducted into the IAA Hall of Fame. Punit Goenka of ZEEL was adjudged ‘Media Person of the Year’, while Gulab Kothari of Rajasthan Patrika emerged ‘Editor of the Year’. The ‘News Anchor of the Year’ title went to Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief, Times Now.

Nitin Paranjpe was awarded the ‘CEO of the Year’ title.

BL Joshi, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, presented awards to winners across advertising, media and marketing.

Srinivasan Swamy, president - IAA India chapter; VP-development - IAA Asia Pacific; and chairman, RK Swamy Hansa Group,said, "While management is about doing things right, leadership is about doing the right things. Today I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the winners who have outdone themselves this year as well as every nominee for showing what leadership means. I am glad to see another successful year at the event this year and look forward to many more years to come."
