Goafest reiterates focus on young guns

Nakul Chopra, CEO, Publicis South Asia and chairman of Goafest 2015, says that the intent of the organising committee of the year’s event is to make the festival ‘even richer’ for young adlanders.

He said, “From its very inception this festival has had a very unique focus on youth. We have always heavily subsidised the participation of under 30s – so that they partake in the unique learning, exposure and celebration Goafest offers. This year we want to re-focus our attention to making the festival even richer for the young guns. They are our future and hence deservedly the focus of our attention and investment.”

Without touching on any specific agency’s participation, Chopra expressed confidence that the 10th edition of the festival will be ‘special’.

He added, “Bigger is not an end in itself. Goafest is the preeminent industry event – it is our endeavour every year of giving it a richer and wider texture than in the past. This year while celebrating the 10th anniversary of the festival we will spare no efforts to make it really special.” 

With respect to the format of the show, Chopra explains that the intent is to consolidate on the last edition. “While we are still finalising some of the details – we have already announced that like last year this year will also be a three-day festival with three award nights. The intent is to do consolidate on the changes initiated last year. It is too early to start confirming speaker names. What can be confirmed is that it will be an exciting list of speakers – both from within our industry and from allied creative industries,” he said.
