Global omnichannel media agency Assembly has opened its new office in India as part of its expansion strategy in South Asia.

The new office will be led by Anish Daniel, formerly general manager at Wavemaker India and associate vice president at Isobar, who brings over 20 years of industry experience to the role. The team will manage Assembly’s domestic operations in India, working with clients such as Lenovo, Fossil, and Estée Lauder, and developing in-market growth strategies.

Assembly says its expansion into the Indian market is part of its broader strategy to capitalise on growth opportunities in the region. With India’s large population, youthful demographic, and rising consumer aspirations, the country has become a significant focus for both regional and global businesses.

In June, Stagwell rebranded Brand New Galaxy (BNG) as Assembly, consolidating BNG’s digital commerce capabilities into Assembly’s global operations. This rebranding involved more than 400 digital commerce specialists from BNG, with the aim of expanding Assembly’s offerings across the customer journey. The integration also saw key BNG executives, including former CEO Piotr Morkowski, join Assembly's leadership team.

In July, Assembly then appointed Shivaprasad Nair to lead its newly established global delivery offering, which combines talent and technological capabilities in Asia Pacific countries such as India and the Philippines. Nair, based in Bangalore, reports to Assembly Europe CEO Matt Adams. He previously held leadership roles at Publicis, Google, Oracle, and Infosys.

Richard Brosgill, Assembly's CEO for APAC, said of the most latest expansion: "India has emerged as a key growth engine for the agency, and our early success in the region underscores our capability to lead clients through change and growth in the market. By establishing a dedicated on-ground team, we have firmly positioned ourselves to help brands win in this dynamic market."

Speaking about Daniel’s appointment, Brosgill added: "Anish's extensive strategic experience, deep in-market knowledge and innovative mindset give us huge confidence in our journey of growth in the market. His true client-centric approach allows him to provide effective and high-impact solutions for clients whilst helping them navigate through the change and growth of their business."
