Mandates follow multi-agency pitches for creative, digital, media and PR

Epic signs on iContract, Jack in the Box, Madison Media, MSL Group

Epic, the to-be-launched Hindi entertainment channel with history, mythology and folklore content, has announced agency partners to support its launch following a pitch process.

Announcing the agency appointments in a statement, Epic said iContract will manage its creative and brand building duties, Jack in the Box will handle digital communication, Madison Media will handle media planning and buying, while MSL Group will be in charge of the channel’s public relations.

Aparna Pandey, business head, Epic, said, “Epic is a differentiated channel that will present meaningful entertainment against an innovative backdrop. Therefore, we were searching for partners who would exemplify fresh and enlightening approach in ideas and thought process. There was so much of creativity in all the agencies we met; however our selected partners had something different to offer, which appealed to all of us at Epic. We are confident that our brand will be portrayed exactly like we perceive it, with the help and support of our partner agencies.”

Subject to regulatory approvals, the channel is planning an August 2013 launch. Epic is the flagship of Epic Television Networks, an integrated media company incorporated in 2012 to create segmented offerings. The company has been floated by a group of private investors, and will be led by Mahesh Samat, immediate past MD of The Walt Disney Company India.
