Portfolio Night 9 comes to Mumbai on May 26

Ogilvy Mumbai will continue to host Portfolio Night in Mumbai this year as well. Ihaveanidea, a community of the international advertising industry and the originators of the very idea of Portfolio Night, have scheduled the event to take place simultaneously around the world on Thursday, May 26th, 2011. In Mumbai it will be held at The Westin, Goregaon. 

Portfolio Night 9 is open to Young creative professionals from advertising agencies and also senior students of art colleges. Participants (Creative professionals who have a portfolio of work they want reviewed) have to register on the Portfolio Night website for a registration fee of US$35 directly to ihaveanidea. An e-ticket issued to the participant permits him entry to the event in Mumbai on May 26, where this participant’s portfolio is reviewed by three creative directors separately.  
 
Commenting on this year's event, Abhijit Avasthi, national creative director, Ogilvy & Mather India said, “Last year was the first time that we brought Portfolio Night to India and whatever feedback we received from freshers as well as seniors in the industry was that it was an extremely successful event. As a platform for the industry to meet youngsters and for youngsters to interact with experts in the industry and get a personal point of view from the creative directors on their portfolio, one cannot get a better forum. So it was a mutually beneficial event.” 
 
“I think it is a great place to pick great talent and we ourselves picked 6 to 7 people from the event last year and benefited hugely from this, and we hope to continue the same excitment this year as well,” he added. 
 
Some of the creative directors who are part of this year's event include Avasthi, Anup Chitnis, Agnelo Dias, Ashish Khazanchi, Arun Iyer,  Ashish Chakravarty, Bobby Pawar, K V Sridhar (Pops), K S Chakravarthy (Chax), Malvika Mehra, Piyush Pandey, Ramanuj Shastri, Rajiv Rao, Raghu Bhatt, Santosh Padhi, Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar, Sajan Raj Kurup, Sumanto Chattopadhyay, Satbir Singh, V Sunil and Vikram Gaikwad. 
 
Vodafone has come on-board as the main sponsor, while Tata Sky and Fevicol are co-sponsors for the event.
