Carpediem marks 15 years with brand refresh 

Kolkata-based PR agency Carpediem Communique has unveiled a fresh identity to celebrate its 15th anniversary. Founded in 2009 amidst the global recession, the agency has successfully navigated major disruptions, including demonetisation and COVID-19. With offices in Bhubaneswar and Guwahati, Carpediem aims to cater to tier-II cities and the North East, tapping into their aspirations for growth.

Its revamped branding, designed by startup agency Hue n I, features a winking bulb and a standout 'R' symbolising the themes of reflection, reignite, and recreate, embodying the agency's ethos. The update also includes an expanded portfolio, adding in-house digital services and production capabilities for TV commercials and jingles, alongside core offerings like media relations, crisis management, and reputation building.     

HiveMinds names Kunal Danda as senior vice president for Mumbai

HiveMinds, part of Madison World, has appointed Kunal Danda as senior vice president to lead its Mumbai operations. With over 20 years of experience in media strategy, he has worked with top clients including ICICI Group, Aditya Birla, and Kellogg’s. Previously with EssenceMediacom, he brings expertise in managing large teams and P&L responsibilities.   

India Today Group appoints Siddharth Zarabi as Editor of Business Today

  
Siddharth Zarabi has been appointed as the new Editor of Business Today by the India Today Group. Zarabi, with over 27 years of experience in journalism, previously served as Managing Editor of Business Today.
 
In his new role, he will oversee the editorial direction across print, digital, and streaming platforms. His appointment is seen as a move to strengthen the editorial vision and strategy of Business Today, helping the brand grow in the fast-evolving media landscape.
 
Cantabil Retail India onboards V360 Group as brand communications partner
 
Cantabil Retail India, an Indian apparel industry, has partnered with V360 Group for its public relations mandate. The agency will oversee PR strategy, management, and execution to strengthen Cantabil's media presence nationwide. The decision was attributed to V360’s expertise in strategic communications and its understanding of the retail sector. 
 
Reflecting on this partnership, Ria Mukherjee, Senior Vice President at V360 Group, highlighted their excitement to build impactful campaigns for the brand. Deepak Bansal, Director of Cantabil, expressed confidence in V360’s ability to elevate Cantabil's brand equity and connect with its customers meaningfully. 
 
Kristi Argyilan joins Uber as global head of advertising
 
Kristi Argyilan has been named global head of advertising at Uber, a role aimed at advancing the company’s ad business, which achieved $1 billion in annual net revenue by 2022. With over a decade of retail media experience, Argyilan’s expertise spans organisations like Albertsons Companies, Target, and Universal McCann. 
 
Her previous role as SVP of retail media at Albertsons involved expanding its media offerings, a testament to her capabilities in driving revenue growth and innovation. Announcing her new role on LinkedIn, Argyilan expressed her enthusiasm for leading Uber’s ad strategies across mobility and delivery platforms, ensuring sustained global growth.  
 
Rakesh CK takes over as head of Sun Nxt
 
Sun Nxt has appointed Rakesh CK as its Head, leveraging his 15 years of experience in business and marketing. Previously EVP and head of SVOD and marketing at aha, Rakesh has also held roles at Reliance Communications, Airtel Business, and Mirchi. 
 
On LinkedIn, Rakesh shared gratitude for his professional journey and conveyed optimism for driving innovation and creating audience-focused value at Sun Nxt. His leadership is expected to steer the platform’s growth in the rapidly evolving OTT landscape.  
 
 
Supriya Rath promoted to global e-commerce marketing leader at Lenovo
 
Lenovo has elevated Supriya Rath to the role of global e-commerce marketing leader, focusing on alliance and affiliate partnerships. Previously the CX leader for India, Rath joined Lenovo in 2016 and has played a role in the company’s retail marketing efforts. 
 
She announced her promotion via LinkedIn, where she shared plans to enhance Lenovo’s global e-commerce operations through strategic partnerships. Rath’s career includes positions at Samsung India Electronics and HyperCITY Retail, underscoring her expertise in marketing and strategy.  
 
 
Komal Kakkar joins HP India as head of corporate communications
 
Komal Kakkar has been named head of corporate communications at HP India, bringing her experience in public relations. She previously served in senior roles at Samsung Electronics and Apollo Munich Health Insurance. 
 

 

Kakkar, a commerce graduate from Maitreyi College, Delhi University, and a PG Diploma holder in PR and Advertising, expressed excitement about crafting impactful communication strategies for HP. Her expertise will bolster HP’s vision of delivering technology that improves lives globally.  

Wipro names Ranjita Ghosh as global chief marketing officer

Wipro has appointed Ranjita Ghosh as its global chief marketing officer, effective February 1, 2025. Ghosh, who previously served as CMO for Wipro’s APMEA strategic market unit, will now oversee global marketing efforts, reporting to chief strategist and technology officer Hari Shetty. She succeeds Laura Langdon, who is departing Wipro to pursue new opportunities. 

With nearly two decades of experience in the global technology services industry, Ghosh has expertise in sales, business development, growth marketing, and ecosystem partnerships. A Global Fellow at The Marketing Academy, she is a recognised advocate for workplace diversity and holds an MBA in marketing and operations, alongside other qualifications. 

PivotRoots wins CoinDCX mandate to boost crypto growth

Indian cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX has awarded its digital brand and performance marketing mandate to PivotRoots, a Havas Media Network India agency. This partnership aims to expand crypto adoption in India and the MENA region, leveraging PivotRoots' expertise in integrated marketing strategies.

CoinDCX recently ramped up its international expansion by acquiring MENA’s BitOasis. The partnership kicked off with a 360-degree campaign featuring former cricketer Gautam Gambhir as 'India ka Crypto Coach', blending education and inspiration to engage India’s growing crypto-curious audience. While CoinDCX's bold push for crypto democratisation is ambitious, regulatory hurdles and public scepticism remain challenges to overcome.  

Joe Ellis named NielsenIQ India managing director

Consumer intelligence firm NielsenIQ (NIQ) has appointed Joe Ellis as the managing director for its India operations. This move comes a year after NIQ's merger with GfK. With over 10,000 employees in India, including at its Global Capability Centers, NIQ’s India unit remains central to its global strategy.

Ellis, based in Mumbai, brings 25 years of experience with NIQ, including leading major initiatives in India like the establishment of BASES in 2004 and digitising retail measurement services in 2013. Under his leadership, NIQ aims to deepen partnerships with leading Indian companies, leveraging its advanced omnichannel tools and analytics to support client growth. This appointment signals NIQ’s commitment to staying ahead in one of its most dynamic markets.
