Vodafone Zoozoos turn TV protagonists to push offerings this IPL

Watch the first two films of the campaign conceptualised by Ogilvy & Mather here

Vodafone has brought back its animated Zoozoo characters for the brand’s IPL 2014 campaign. This year, the characters will communicate the different products and services from the telco while enacting roles in popular TV shows.

The first two films of the campaign go on air on 16 April, the day the IPL gets underway.

One of the films promotes the service provider’s ‘Choose your number’ service. It features a dance reality show starring the Zoozoos. After many attempts, one of the participants manages a score of 10 from each of the three judging Zoozoos. The title introduces the service and says, ‘Get the number you want’.

Another film features a quiz show setting akin to KBC. As the participating Zoozoo tries to make a call for help on a question, talk time on the phone runs out. A super introduces ‘Chota credit’ to top up instantly.

Ronita Mitra, SVP - brand communications and insights, Vodafone India, said, “The IPL 2014 campaign will showcase a gamut of products and services which deliver on the promise of a differentiated telecom brand experience, thus making lives of our customers simple and convenient. The ZooZoos have become a big part of India’s cultural conscience. Breaking through the monotony and fatigue, the ZooZoos have been presented in a refreshed and engaging creative format to communicate our proposition. This year it will be very entertaining for the viewers to spot the pop-culture reference in each of the ads and talk about it.”

Vodafone’s campaign during IPL 2014 will be supported by OOH, digital and other mediums, informed a statement from the company.
