UK-based Naked Communications has appointed Gitanjali Sriram (pictured) to head its India operations. Sriram joins from Lowe Lintas where she was director, channel planning.
Naked’s founding team Jon Wilkins and Will Collin expressed delight on the agency’s launch in India, a market they have been planning to enter over the past two years. Collin said, “The dynamic growth of India as a global force in business has been mirrored by a growth in its marketing communications industry. However, while the agency sector may have expanded, we believe that objectivity remains in short supply. That’s what Naked will bring: strategic communications advice from an objective standpoint.”
Added Wilkins, “We are delighted that Gita is joining our global team. She brings a wealth of experience, verve and dynamism to Naked and will help us attract further partners and clients as we expand across the region.”
Ivan Pollard, group partner, Naked Communications said, “What excites us about India is not only the opportunity to import Naked’s particularly potent approach to communications but to also learn and export India’s talent for enterprising and imaginative solutions to other parts of our network.”
Sriram has over 20 years of experience having taken on strategic roles in planning, retail, CRM, digital and promotions having worked across brands such as Titan, Nestle, McDonald’s, Nike, Coke. On the agency side, she was with Leo Burnett Malaysia as director, strategic planning, where she launched Arc. In 2006, she took on the role of GM of Arc, Hong Kong and joined Lowe Lintas in 2008.
Sriram said, “Naked is the perfect platform to engage and grow with, in one of the most progressive markets in the world.”
