Wavemaker retained the ‘Media Agency of the Year’ title at The Advertising Club’s Emvies 2023 which were held in Mumbai on 10 March. The awards celebrated innovative, strategy-led, integrated and research-driven campaigns from the past year.
The agency bagged a Grand Emvie, 18 Gold, 21 Silver and 26 Bronze metals to end with a tally of 630 points.
The Grand Emvie was for Mondelez India Foods’ Cadbury Celebrations’ ‘Not Just a Cadbury Ad’ in the ‘Best Media Innovation: Best use of influencer marketing for a brand’ category. The entry also bagged nine Gold Emvies.
Wavemaker also won four Gold metals for Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk's 'Silk Secret Messages', two Gold metals were bagged for Netflix India's Money Heist - India Bole 'Bella Ciao' - Jaldi Aao. It also won a Gold metal each for Cadbury Dairy Milk's 'Proud sponsors of the ground staff', Netflix India's 'From The Upside Down' and Cadbury Dairy Milk's #GoodLuckGirls campaigns.
Mondelez India Foods was awarded the ‘Media Client of the Year’ accolade with 15 Gold, 11 Silver and 17 Bronze metals.
Mindshare finished second among the agencies with a total of 340 points which included six Gold, 19 Silver and 12 Bronze metals.
It won Gold Emvies for Boost’s 'Stamina Meter - On The Rise', Upstox Ke Saath Investment Start Karke Dekho (Start investing with Upstox), WhatsApp’s 'Stems Privacy Concern', Pepsi’s World's 'First Heist', Boost’s '#GameStaminaKa - Breaking Gender Barriers in Gaming' and Hindustan Unilever’s 'Cracking deal-ightful experiences' campaign.
EssenceMediacom was the third most awarded agency with four Gold, one Silver, and six Bronze Emvies. Two of the Gold wins were for Google’s 'Search For Change' campaign. It also won a Gold each for Whisper India’s 'The Missing Chapter' and Ariel’s 'Share The Load' campaign.
Kinnect also bagged a Gold. This came for Bausch & Lomb’s ‘How Bausch + Lomb's '#LookOfLove advocated for unbiased and unprejudiced love’ campaign. The agency also bagged a Silver.
