Manish Agarwal joins Reliance Entertainment – Digital as COO

Reliance Entertainment has announced the appointment of Manish Agarwal as the chief operating officer for its digital businesses. Prior to this, he was the chief executive officer at UTV New Media Ltd.

Rohit Sharma, chief executive officer, Reliance Entertainment – Digital Business, said “With India at the digital inflection point, we are expecting huge growth in our gaming, VOD and e-commerce business across all platforms and devices be it Mobile, PC and DTH. We believe that Manish's tremendous experience in the digital space will help us in achieving significant scale and growth in our business.”

Commenting on the new role, Agarwal added, “I am looking forward to joining Reliance Entertainment and work with the team in creating world class digital entertainment destinations.  With the impending 3G era and the scale which Reliance Entertainment offers, I am excited with the opportunity of offering great consumer experience to millions of Indians consuming entertainment across all touch points.”

Agarwal has a total experience of 14 years with 6 years dedicated to the digital industry with experience in companies like Microsoft, Rediff and UTV New Media. Joining from March 1, he will be responsible for operations across Bigflix, Bigadda, Zapak Digital Entertainment Limited and Jump Games and will report to Rohit Sharma.

Agarwal holds a post graduate degree in Management from IIM, Ahmedabad and a bachelor's degree in Technology from NIT, Warangal.
