Sony update: Priya Bhave's departure not linked to clean up

Sections of the media had reported earlier today that Priya Bhave (pictured), who was a consultant on Indian Idol Season four, had quit as a result of the current churn at Sony. Speaking to Campaign India, Bhave categorically denied that her moving on was a result of the current restructuring taking place in the company.

Sections of the media had reported earlier today that Priya Bhave (pictured), who was a consultant on Indian Idol Season four, had quit as a result of the current churn at Sony. Speaking to Campaign India, Bhave categorically denied that her moving on was a result of the current restructuring taking place in the company.

“My contract with Sony clearly states that I was a consultant only for the fourth season of Indian Idol. I had communicated this fact to Sony, about four weeks back, as the show came to an end and informed them that I would be moving on. I was disturbed to see there being a link being made between what was happening at Sony and my moving on,” she added.

Bhave was earlier working as an employee with Sony Entertainment for a period of about nine years before she left the company, returning to work as a consultant for Indian Idol, a show that she has been closely involved with from the beginning.
