The Mobile Internet Consumer - India 2013 report released; 'Game / App' most downloaded type of mobile content

The Mobile Internet Consumer - India 2013 report, produced by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and Vserv.mobi, addresses audience insights from the growing mobile internet user base in India. This report has focused on profiling the mobile web and app users, their purchasing power, lifestyle and consumption pattern.

The report is based on a primary survey of over 2,000 mobile web and app users from India using smart phones and feature phones.

The report notes that more than half of all mobile internet users in India belong to the 18 to 24-year age group, and nine out of 10 mobile internet users are men. The survey found that around 48 per cent of the mobile internet user base has completed graduation, while only 2 per cent of the audience is uneducated. Around two thirds of the mobile internet user base belongs to the working class, even as 29 per cent of the audience are students.

Besides browsing, e-mail and chat, mobile internet users love downloading mobile content and 'Game / App' is the most downloaded type of mobile content. Around 69 per cent of the audience likes downloading games or apps, while people preferring to download video content follow with 57 per cent. The survey also found that 41 per cent of the audience love mobile ads that help them find good deals.
