Spikes Asia has announced two of its jury presidents for 2010. David Lubars, chairman and chief creative officer of BBDO North America will chair the TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor and Radio jury as well as the Integrated jury.  Bob Greenberg, chairman, CEO and global chief creative Officer of R/GA will head the Design jury.

“Both David and Bob are creative futurists whose ground-breaking work and multiple accolades across all disciplines are much admired by all and an inspiration to all. We are truly honoured to have them onboard for Spikes,” said Terry Savage, chairman of Cannes Lions who with Haymarket are joint organisers of the Festival.

Lubars has overseen BBDO’s transformation into a dominant creative force in the U.S., which has created extraordinary work in digital such as its “HBO Voyeur” and “Imagination Cube” platforms and the Starbucks “Love Project”. BBDO North America was the most awarded in the U.S. last year (Big Won), and the most awarded in the world in 2008 according to The Gunn Report, as well as a recipient of Agency of the Year honour at Cannes.

Individually, David has won every major creative award in the world including the Titanium, multiple Grand Prix and more than 50 Lions at Cannes, Grand Clio, Grand Andy, Best of Show One Show, Best of Show Radio Mercury, Gold Effie, D&AD, Communications Arts and the EMMY four times. David has chaired both the Cannes Lions Titanium jury (2006) and the Film and Press Juries (2009) as well as the Integrated Jury at D&AD.

Talking about his appointment, David Lubars, chairman and chief creative officer of BBDO North America said, “Some of the best work in the world is being done in Asia. Which is why I’m honoured and excited to head the Film, Press, Outdoor, Radio and Integrated juries at this year’s Spikes Awards.”

Bob Greenberg has been a pioneer in the advertising and communications industry for over three decades. After founding R/GA with his brother, he has transitioned R/GA into one of the world’s most influential advertising agencies, emphasising the importance of integrated strategies, creative excellence, and innovative technology. R/GA has received top honours at the industry’s most prestigious award shows, including a GRANDY at the International ANDY Awards, a Black Pencil at the D&AD, and a Cyber Grand Prix and Titanium Lion at the Cannes Advertising Festival.

Among his most notable awards are the 2007 BDA Lifetime Achievement Award, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Communications in 2003 that honours the best in American design, and the Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design. He was also the 2004 Cannes Lions Cyber Jury President and was a member of the 2005 Titanium Jury.

Bob Greenberg said on his appointment, “Design is an area that I have been passionate about for my entire career. I am honoured to be chosen to lead the Design Jury and to have the opportunity to engage with influential creative leaders in Asia who are generating outstanding and innovative work based in great design.”

The Spikes Asia Advertising Festival will take place in Singapore’s Suntec City from 19-22 September 2010. Spikes Asia is the result of a collaboration between the International Advertising Festival, organisers of Cannes Lions, Dubai Lynx and Eurobest, and Haymarket, publisher of Campaign India, Campaign UK and Media magazine.
