The 59th International Festival of Creativity is underway, and the first set of shortlists for the Cannes Lions have been announced.
Four Indian entries have been shortlisted in the Promo and Activation Lions category, while eight Indian shortlists will be in the running for metal in Direct Lions.
Promo and Activation Lions
In Promo and activation Lions, DDB Mudra Group’s entry ‘The Killing Stapler’ for Sanctuary Magazine, JWT India’s ‘God’s Own Delivery Boys’ for The Times of India , Leo Burnett’s ‘Ink Pad’ for Door Step School, and Percept/H’s ‘The Anti-Terror Bag’ for Percept have been shortlisted from India.
In all, 251 entries have been shortlisted to compete in the Promo and activation Lions category this year, from 2674 entries received. The number of Indian entries in this category was 85.
Direct Lions
The Indian shortlists will compete with 219 others. The Direct Lions category attracted 2357 entries this year, including 108 from India.
PR Lions
In the PR Lions category, a lone Indian entry has been shortlisted. The Practice Porter Novelli's 'HP Read & Write' for HP is in the running for metal.
Of the 1130 entries received in the PR Lions category, 134 entries made it to the shortlist. Indian agencies sent in 19 entries in this category.
