OMG India certifies 100 LinkedIn Marketers, sets industry benchmark

Its #OMG100Insiders initiative upskills marketers with LinkedIn certifications, enhancing ROI-focused strategies and future B2B leadership.

With budgets under scrutiny and brands demanding measurable outcomes, certifications like these help agencies ensure their teams are equipped to deliver tangible results.

Omnicom Media Group (OMG) India has taken a significant step in upskilling its workforce, and claims it is the first agency in the country to certify 100 of its employees as LinkedIn Certified Marketing Insiders. This initiative, part of the #OMG100Insiders programme, underscores the agency’s focus on talent development and enhancing client outcomes in an evolving marketing landscape.

The certification equips OMG India’s team with in-depth knowledge of LinkedIn advertising, covering three core modules—Fundamentals, Marketing Strategy, and Content and Creative Design. This training is designed to ensure marketers are proficient in creating ROI-focused strategies, which are increasingly vital for brands navigating today’s digital-first economy.

Kartik Sharma, group CEO of Omnicom Media Group India, emphasised the initiative’s importance in addressing the demands of a dynamic industry. “The marketing landscape is constantly evolving and demands agility on our part. Through best-in-class upskilling opportunities and digital leadership initiatives like #OMG100Insiders, we continue to unlock new dimensions of growth and champion our culture of being our clients’ most trusted partners and unlocking value and business outcomes for clients,” he said.

OMG India's move to certify its marketers goes beyond professional development. The agency positions this milestone as part of a broader strategy to empower its talent to become thought leaders in B2B marketing.

By achieving LinkedIn Certified Marketing Expert status, the team gains access to advanced knowledge and exclusive industry benefits, reinforcing their ability to deliver high-impact campaigns.

This development aligns with the increasing prominence of LinkedIn as a critical platform for B2B marketing, offering many opportunities for targeting and engagement. As competition among brands intensifies, having a team trained in LinkedIn-specific strategies offers OMG India a distinct edge in crafting campaigns that drive measurable results.

The #OMG100Insiders initiative is not OMG India’s first foray into formalised training and certification. Earlier in 2024, the agency was recognised as a Meta Certified Company, earning Marketing Science and Media certifications. These achievements highlight OMG India’s commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and continually enhancing its team’s expertise.

The agency’s efforts reflect a broader trend in the marketing industry, where agencies and brands are prioritising talent development to keep pace with rapidly evolving platforms and consumer behaviours. Upskilling initiatives like this serve not only to retain top talent but also to ensure agencies remain competitive in delivering innovative and effective solutions to clients.

OMG India’s collaboration with LinkedIn demonstrates the growing importance of specialised platform knowledge in developing successful campaigns. As platforms like LinkedIn become more integral to B2B marketing strategies, agencies must invest in building internal expertise to maintain relevance.

The initiative also highlights a shift toward ROI-driven marketing strategies. With budgets under scrutiny and brands demanding measurable outcomes, certifications like these help agencies ensure their teams are equipped to deliver tangible results.

OMG India’s example may set a precedent for other agencies to follow. By prioritising structured training programmes and certifications, agencies can build a workforce that is not only adept at leveraging current tools but also agile enough to adapt to future technological advancements.

As digital marketing continues to evolve, initiatives like #OMG100Insiders signal a growing recognition of the need for continuous learning and professional development within the industry. With platforms introducing new features and algorithms at a rapid pace, agencies must equip their teams with the skills needed to navigate these changes effectively.

OMG India's certification milestone also raises broader questions about the future of talent development in advertising and marketing. Will other agencies follow suit in establishing formalised upskilling programmes? How will certifications like these impact client expectations and industry standards?

While the answers remain to be seen, one thing is clear: in an industry where adaptability is key, investing in talent will continue to be a critical driver of success. By empowering its team with LinkedIn Certified Marketing Insider credentials, OMG India is enhancing its own capabilities, after setting a benchmark for the industry at large.
