Appies 2014: 18 shortlists from India, nine from McCann

The Appies, the annual marketing festival organised by the Institute of Advertising Singapore, has revealed the shortlist for the 2014 edition of the festival.From India, 18 entries feature among shortlists. Nine of these are from McCann WorldGroup India. BBH has six, one of which is credited to multiple agencies (see list below). 

BBDO India (2) and Viacom18 (MTV India) are also among shortlists.

Besides these, there is an entry from BBDO Singapore for client HP, titled ‘Help Your Child Shine’, which is work done for the Indian market, according to credits published by Appies.

Shortlisted entries will present a four-minute show reel, followed by a six-minute exposition and questions from the jury panel and audience. The presentations will be made on 14 August, opening the two-day festival.

According to Sridhar Ramaswamy, director - retail marketing, Lenovo, and chief judge, Appies 2014, winning work should address the specific marketing challenge, while defining the target audience. He also stressed the importance of the creative idea, integrated execution and the final results. “We treat marketing as a craft, so we will be looking at how challenging the whole exercise was and how well it solves the problem and delivers results,” he explained.
