Star Sports releases follow up of firecracker film ahead of India vs South Africa

Watch the film conceptualised by the in-house team at Star Sports here

Following the success of the Firecracker film for the India-Pakistan game, Star Sports has rolled out a new TVC ahead of India’s match against South Africa on 22 February. The film turns the table on Indians fans as it pokes fun at the fact that India has never beaten South Africa in a World Cup game.

The film showcases a group of fans watching the game. Their viewing is interrupted by a knock on the door. As soon as one of them opens the door, they are handed a box of firecrackers by two south African fans who start to sing, “Mauka Mauka” (chance chance). The film ends with a voice over reminding the audience of South Africa’s unbeaten record against India in World Cup games.
